Open Mic – Fiction for Fun 2025

We are delighted to offer several open mic sessions on the evenings of the festival.   There will be a maximum of 4 sessions per night, limited to just the last two on Thursday and Friday evenings.

Could you please adhere to the guidelines below?

• Sign up before the event by emailing fictionforfun@btinternet.com
• Arrive at the event in plenty of time. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to take your slot if you are delayed and someone else is already speaking.
• Get on and off stage efficiently and quickly. We are limited on time to include everyone.
• Please limit your time to 10 minutes, as you do not want other people taking to the stage while you are still speaking. We would suggest you time yourself before the event.
• Your time is yours to read from poetry, fiction or non-fiction. The time will include any self-promotion of books or events. Please do not overrun.
• Please be wary and respectful of our audiences and confine any political, profanities, religious views, etc, to appropriate readings.
• You are welcome to bring books to sell from our bookshop. Please request a booking form for this from fictionforfun@btinternet.com. This must be completed before you arrive so we know how many books to expect and can make room for them.
• If you have any merchandise suitable for the festival audience, please submit it to us before the event or by Thursday morning for inclusion in our audience goody bags.
