How should we conclude our four-day festival of fantasy, publishing, memoir and fiction? With a real-life character, of course.

Who would have guessed that Simon Jacobs from Devizes would appear in a book written by Santa Montefiore?  Her book, published in 2023 is called “Wait for Me”- and Simon Jacobs is the true character at the heart of this book.

When Simon was serving in the Household Cavalry in 1988 he became aware of past lives and reincarnation. He discovered a past life story of his own, which he shares in an amusing and entertaining manner. The late Judy Hall wrote, ‘Deja Who? A New Look at Past Lives’ (1998) and ‘The Book of Why: Understanding Your Soul’s Journey’ (2010) which both included accounts of Simon’s past life story. 

Having heard Simon talk about his experiences of a past life and reincarnation. Santa approached Simon and asked him to collaborate on the story ‘Wait for Me.’ The book became a Sunday Times best seller in June 2024.
