We are delighted to showcase local authors and Martin Lake is one such person.

Born in Southampton, Martin now lives in Dorset, with his wife and family and has a career in IT under his belt. Finding time for writing has not always been easy, but his fascination with the legends of Arthur and Norse mythology led to the publication of his debut novel. ‘Beyond the Stones’ is the first in the Chronicles of the Realms Trilogy and was published by Spellbound last August.

Imagine a world of science and technology where the only magic we know of appears in books and legends. What would happen if you found yourself remembering a time when magic was real and powerful? For our penultimate session, Martin will share his secrets of blending modern contemporary stories with Arthurian legend to appeal to all readers. The stones in question are just a few miles down the road from here at Stonehenge, with many of the settings set in a Dorset familiar to us all.
