Who would have thought that one of Della Galton’s books could have kept a cancer patient from screaming out loud when undergoing the first chemotherapy treatment while wearing an ice cap to prevent hair loss? But this is absolutely true, and I believe there is a photo in existence to prove it – viewing of which is non-negotiable!
The book in question was “Rainbows over Puddleduck Farm”, which was warm and friendly enough to divert said patient! Della’s writing has the ability to make readers, laugh, cry, love and study friendships.
A powerhouse of a writer, Della has been writing since she was six years old, and has had over 2000 short stories published in a variety of magazines, together with two series of novels.
Her Puddleduck Farm and Bluebell Cliff series are pure delightful escapism from a wet and windy world. Her latest book ‘Summer Secrets at Duck Pond Cottage’ is the second in a new series and was released on Saturday 22 February. You will find copies of this and other of Della’s books at our in-house bookshop during Fiction for Fun, where Della will be teaching on Thursday, April 3rd from 2 – 2.30.
This workshop on writing short stories will be popular, and there will be just twelve places available, so do book your place, free of charge here.
Della has also written under the pseudonym of Della Parker – seek out her “The Reading Group.” Arm yourself with a large glass of wine and prepare to be entertained as you share the lives of the six women in the group.
In her spare time away from writing, Della runs workshops, courses and every possible aid in her quest to get people writing and releasing their creative ability.
